10 consejos para leer más. 10 tips to read more.

Recuerdo perfectamente la cara y el nombre del profesor que me enseñó a leer y a escribir. Aprendí enseguida, y siempre tenía un libro entre las manos, persiguiendo a la gente de mi casa leyéndoles fragmentos de los libros. Me gustaba leer, me gustaba leer en alto y que me escucharan. Mi madre hacía la comida y yo de pie recitaba el libro. Mi abuela limpiaba la casa, y yo iba detrás.
Y de repente no sé qué pasó. Dejé de leer.Siempre lo he relacionado con los libros que tenía que leer por obligación en el colegio. Los más aburridos de todos. Quizás importantes de leer, pero no a esa edad. Y hasta hace 3 años atrás me costaba horrores encontrar un libro que me gustara y me enganchara. 

I remember perfectly who was the teacher who teach me to read and write. I was reading books very early and I learned quickly. I always had a book in my hands, and I used to follow people around the house reading to them while they were doing other things. I loved to read, I loved to read and I love to be heard by people.
But from one day to another, I just stopped. I always thought that it was because of the horrible books I had to read in school. Which I am sure are good books, but not for that young age. And it was not until3 years ago, I started reading again.

Por eso encuentro interesante la sección de mi blog en la que hablo de libros. Para que las 
poquitas personas que me leen, cojan ese gusanillo y vuelvan a coger un libro, y si tú eres ya de por sí lector, para darte algunas ideas de que puedes leer según tus gustos.

That is why I like to share my books with all of you guys. Even if it is just to give some ideas of what to read, or even to try to convince just one of you of holding a book in your hands.

So today´s post I want to switch things a little bit up. X TIPS to read books:

Así que para este post se me ha ocurrido dar X TRUCOS para leer (ya sea leer más, o empezar a leer)

1.Si no te gusta el libro, déjalo. Lee por los menos 50-70 páginas. Si el libro no te gusta, lo peor que puedes hacer es seguir leyendo.

If you don´t like the book, do no finish it. Read about 50 to 100 pages. If you still do not like the book, the worst thing you can do is to keep reading.

2.Una recompensa después de leer. Si por la noche te gusta ver una serie, antes de ver un capítulo, lee unas páginas del libro. Como premio, la serie. Si lo haces al revés, verás tu serie y te irás a dormir y no leerás nada.

Give yourself a reward after reading. If at night you like your Netflix, please read one chapter of your book and then enjoy your show. If you do it the other way around, you will the show and you will fall sleep without reading  a single page.

3.Primero el libro y luego la película. Mucha gente tiene pensado leer una trilogía, pero como sacan la película nunca llegas a leer el libro. Eso me pasó a mí con Harry Potter. Si, ya sé. Debo de ser la única persona que no se ha leído NI UN libro de Harry Potter.

First comes the book, then comes the movie. Read the book before the movie comes up. If you don´t, you will never read those books. That is what happened to me with Harry Potter. Yes. I must be the only person in the whole world who haven´t read any of the books.

4. Únete a un club de lectura. Me parece una buenísima idea para conocer a gente nueva y para comentar con otras personas sus opiniones acerca de un libro. Os dejo algunos sitios a los que podeis acudir. 1, 2, 3, y este plan que me acaba de llegar en una newsletter de Madrid confidencial.

Join a book club. I think it is a great idea to meet new people and talk about your opinions on one particular book. Here you have some info about this meet ups..  1, 2, 3, 4.

5.Sin o sabes que leer pregunta a gente (amigos) con gustos parecidos a los tuyos por alguna recomendación.

If you don´t know what to read, ask your friends with common tastes about any recommendations.

6.Lee la biografía de alguien a quien admires.

Read the biography of someone you love/admire.

7.Si la excusa es el dinero (porque sí, los libros son muy caros) siempre puedes hacerte socio de la biblioteca y tener libro por alrededor de dos meses. Si eres de los que tarda mucho en leer, esto puede ser un incentivo para leer más rápido.

If your excuse it´s that books are expensive (they flipping are)you can always borrow one from the library. Normally you get 2-3 months to read it and that can be perfect to do not procrastinate reading the book.

8.Ahora que pasamos tanto tiempo con las pantallas, descárgate alguna App y lee en cualquier momento. El transporte público es buen un lugar por el que empezar. ¡Cuidado con quedarse dormido! Además, ahorras dinero y peso que comprando el libro físico.

Now that we live in front of screens, download an App to read books on where ever you are. Public transport is a nice place to read if you do not have time. But please, do not fall sleep!
That way you save money and space in your bag which is always very appreciate.

9.Si te niegas en banda con un libro, lee. Lee una revista, lee el periódico, lee la etiqueta del brik de leche. Me da igual. Aprende palabras nuevas. Lee.

If you refuse to read a book read a magazine. Read the newspaper. Read the flipping text on your milk carton. I do not care. Learn new words. Read.

10.Si no siempre te queda el audiobook.

At last, you can always find an audiobook.
